About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Modern Counseling San Diego.  I specialize in helping individuals and couples thrive, not just survive, in today’s modern world.

I work collaboratively with clients to address life challenges, find creative solutions to problems, and build strong relationships. Clients describe my style as warm and collaborative, incorporating solution-focused and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for issues such as anxiety and EFT for couples’ relational issues.

My life experiences contribute to my understanding as a therapist. I am a married mother of two boys who continually teach me about life, relationships and trying to live in balance. As a child I grew up on two different continents and this helps me work with people of various backgrounds and cultures. I have also encountered my share of difficult life situations so I can better understand clients’ struggles and how to help.

Professionally, I have provided consultation locally and state-wide for organizations such as the California Mental Health Authority and the AjA Project. In the past, I worked in community college, non-profit and government/military settings where I provided prevention, education, and behavioral health services.
